Bred with Integrity ~ Raised with Love
This site will introduce you to the very rare and wonderful Mi-Ki dog, whose breeding began in the 1980's in the United States.
Mi-Ki puppies have been selectively bred for calm companionship and adaptability, along with sweet engaging personalities.
Mi-Ki are a non-shedding breed with hair instead of fur which makes them highly suitable for people with allergies. Mi-Ki dogs are extremely intelligent and playful with almost cat like agility and mannerisms. At an adult average weight of 6 to 7 pounds they are an unusual, intriguing blend of cuddly lap dog and class clown.
Unique in so many ways, the Mi-Ki dog is a new American breed that has taken the best from its Papillon, Maltese and Japanese Chin heritage.
A royal heritage it is. The Papillon was popular among the French upper class in the sixteenth century with admirers such as Madame Pompadour and Marie Antoinette, the Maltese enjoyed popularity among the royal court during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, and the Japanese Chin was first brought from Korea to Japan as a gift to the Emperor Seimu in 730 A.D. and was highly treasured by the imperial family.
